A Case Study of an Adult Student on the Application of Mediation in the Pronunciation of SLA in US

Abstract

This research focuses on the experiment of mediation in pronunciation learning in SLA in US. Through the interaction between the instructor and the adult learner, the language learning progress has been mediated by the social interaction and noticing. The learner used the target language as a tool to negotiate with the instructor and himself in the learning progress. The observation was mainly used in the research. Learning and research journal were also used to record the learning progress. The paper came to a conclusion that learners could mediate their learning processes through their communicative activities and make a great progress through mediation.
