Abstract
This study was conducted to determine whether significant differences exist in the level of awareness of parents regarding the K to 12 language curriculum, particularly when grouped according to gender, family income, nature of work, and educational attainment. Parental awareness is vital in supporting students' language development, especially within the context of the Philippines’ K to 12 reform, which requires active home-school collaboration. Utilizing a descriptive-comparative research design, the study surveyed 159 parent-respondents from the Paquibato District, Division of Davao City. Data were gathered using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, and one-way ANOVA to test for differences across demographic groups. The results revealed that parents demonstrated a high level of awareness across all domains of the K to 12 language curriculum. Notably, significant differences were observed based on gender, family income, nature of work, and educational attainment. These findings highlight the need for tailored communication strategies, leading to the recommendation of an intensive orientation scheme to strengthen parental understanding and involvement in language education, ensuring inclusive support for learners across various socioeconomic backgrounds.
